Being as Bruce Springsteen has seemed to be squarely in "pop-in" mode of late -- i.e. popping in for appearances at events from the "His Hometown" exhibit in Freehold" to a hometown showing of "Western Stars" to a benefit for Boston College -- I had figured it was a lock that he'd show up for this year's Light of Day Parkinson's benefit at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park last night. But dicey weather and a United States Equestrian Team event the night before apparently had lots of people anxious that he might not show.
Turns out they needed have worried. As Rolling Stone reports in detail, he made it with bells on -- or at least a funny hat.
